Partnership with Fulfilmentcrowd

Insights

Through our partnership with Fulfilmentcrowd, other customers can now connect to e-commerce as well

Two years ago, De Boer Group entered into a partnership with Fulfilmentcrowd. A successful partnership, as the collaboration has expanded rapidly over the past two years. What began with logistics operations from the Netherlands has now grown into De Boer Group managing logistics from three locations across Europe. Bas, Sales Manager at De Boer Group, explains what the partnership with Fulfilmentcrowd entails and how it has also led to further collaboration with other customers.

“We were introduced to Fulfilmentcrowd through one of our clients,” Bas explains. “Fulfilmentcrowd is an e-commerce platform that companies can join to sell their products more successfully. When they sell in multiple countries, they can store their products locally, keeping customs and transport costs low. From there, they can sell everything through a single application. So you don’t need all sorts of different systems to operate in multiple countries.”

“We started in Born, but now we’re also operating from Paris and Leipzig. During peak season, we process about 1,500 parcels a day; in the low season around 800. A substantial volume.”

Acting fast, preventing costs

When De Boer Group began discussions with Fulfilmentcrowd, there was immediate interest. Bas: “We were able to set up the logistics process quickly and efficiently. On top of that, we operate from multiple locations across Europe. That was especially important for UK-based Fulfilmentcrowd after Brexit. They’ve found it’s become more difficult to ship parcels. By working with us, they no longer have to worry about additional customs charges. We were also able to handle the scale of work and had the ability to further expand capacity.”

Expansion across Europe

More than two years later, the collaboration with Fulfilmentcrowd has indeed expanded significantly. Bas: “We started in Born, but now we’re also working from Paris and Leipzig. In peak season we process around 1,500 parcels per day; in low season around 800. So that’s a considerable volume. To Fulfilmentcrowd’s full satisfaction. With a score of 99% or even 100%, we more than meet the SLA agreement we’ve set. And we’re not stopping there — plans are already in place to start operations in Italy as well.”

1+1=3

Thanks to the partnership with Fulfilmentcrowd, a valuable synergy has also emerged. “Our existing warehouse customers can now tap into e-commerce,” says Bas. “We can provide those services for them, meaning they can rely on us for their entire logistics chain. The platform is very appealing to them. At the same time, Fulfilmentcrowd customers who don’t do e-commerce can also work with us. We can handle their container shipments and store their imported products in our warehouses. In that sense, we’ve essentially become a platform ourselves.”
